In their own words.
I am nearly 10 years into my ATM business, and I am having one of my best years ever. After many years of trying, ACFN and I were able to secure the contract at the largest mall in the country in suburban Minneapolis. The contract involves 17 ATMs in the mall, amusement park and bars/restaurants.
Over the years, I had dropped off multiple brochures including one in 2023 and ultimately we were able to displace Cardtronics, owned by NCR, the largest ATM provider in the world.
In addition, Minnesota has recently legalized cannabis dispensaries, so there are new dispensaries opening regularly in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and rural Minnesota. I am focusing on newly licensed locations, and have secured two dispensaries. Both are doing great business, and are already among my most profitable locations. There are several other dispensaries that we are in discussion with, and I am quite hopeful I will have at least another couple of locations operating by the end of the year.
ACFN also helped me place ATMs into some hotels over the past year and a half and as a result of this new business, I’ve placed 18 machines in 2025 and 4 so far in 2026.
As you can see, in 2026 and 2027, we still have opportunities to secure new, profitable locations. Scour your local market to find potentially profitable locations, and work with the ACFN marketing team to strategize your approach.
Dave E. St. Paul, MN
I am an ACFN franchisee located in the Dallas, Texas area. I have been blessed to join ACFN in 2019 and I currently have a total of 14 Argos and GenMega ATMs.
Thanks to the dedicated and professional support of Jim Diltz, Rachele Cuevas, and Roxane LaChance I just recently programmed and installed (3) three ATMs within a 30 day time span. The 1st and 2nd installations, we were able to secure the ATM agreements by presenting our superior program and providing supporting documents identifying “No Cost” to your organization, Monthly Revenue commission checks, Established Company started in 1996, (30 years of experience), servicing thousands of ATMs, High Quality Machine, and Local Customer Service. These two were both high quality hotels with one being a Westin by Marriott and the other a DoubleTree by Hilton. The Westin had a national competitor servicing them until the Marking department was able to obtain the contract.
The 3rd installation, a privately held real estate, entertainment, and hospitality company with many locations throughout the country was initially very hesitant in changing from their long term ATM service provider. We were ultimately able to convince them that no other ATM company matches ACFN’s level of expertise and dedication. Jim Diltz’s team and I offered to place a no cost or obligation trial ACFN Argo ATM at their Dallas location to demonstrate ACFN’s performance is beyond comparison. Additionally, we offered placing no cost advertisements on the ATM screen to promote their location and special offers. It’s been 2 months so far and the location is highly impressed and may be assessing a potential corporate agreement with ACFN for all their locations.
All 3 locations are performing extremely well and above expectations. I encourage everyone to engage with the ACFN marketing team for the advancement of your portfolio.
John M. North Dallas, TX
I’ve been an ACFN franchisee since March of 2009, and I currently operate 72 locations across the Northeast. Twenty-nine of those are supermarkets: 13 installed in 2024, 4 in 2025, and 8 so far in 2026, including a ShopRite going in this month for a customer who liked our service enough to bring us their new store.
Grocery was new territory for me; I had largely ignored this segment of the market my first decade operating my franchise until Jim approached me about installing a few ShopRite locations through a corporate deal that had been inked. Most supermarkets don’t do huge numbers per machine. Mine tend to run in the 125 to 225 transaction range, but the consistency is what makes them work.
The terms help as much as the consistency does. ACFN negotiated a revert to $0 tier on these stores, so when volume falls below the minimum there’s no revenue share paid to the location on that first tier. That’s the difference between a lower volume store being marginal and being worthwhile. Deals like this one are not something I could have put together on my own, and the ACFN team deserves credit for landing it.
Hotels spike on weekends and big events, then go quiet early in the week, and up here the post-Christmas lull is very real. Supermarkets are steady. Over the past year my supermarket revenue moved less than 4% month to month while my hotels swung more than four times that. Supermarkets are now about a third of my locations and closer to 40% of my revenue, which I expect to push past 45% once the most recent group of 6 stores finishes being installed.
Lastly, I had almost nothing to do with landing them beyond performing some drops at stores in my area and a willingness to try something new. These deals come together in ways most of us franchisees never see. Corporate opens doors on one end, franchisees open them on the other. Jim and the sales team did that work via phone and email while I was out in the field servicing machines, and it’s still paying dividends years later. That partnership is the real engine behind my growth.
